In these days of every day innovation in filmy media, 16th IFFK salutes Kerala’s traditional, ancient visual art- PAAVA KOOTHU with its signature film.
The 32 sec film is a journey through the history of visual languages evolved in different parts of the world. It visualizes the urge of human kind to make images for expressing the unexpressible.
It is a unique blend of 2d, 3d and shot footages of shadow puppet play. Kerala‘s traditional puppet play “paava koothu” is clubbed with similar art forms of different countries around the world.
Film is produced in the banner of S.H.O.W - Total Visual Media by Blue Berries and directed by Bijoy Balachandran. Music score is rendered by Fly Council, a Thiruvanathupuram based music band.
The concept and crew members behind the film were chosen from a stream of film makers applied through advertisement.
