Marketing  Malayalam Cinema( Dec.12):
Technology may rescue Asian film industry: Sunil Dhoshi
”Modern technology can only   rescue the Asian Film Industry,  from not  being recognized”, said Sunil Dhoshi, coordinator of  the panel discussion,  held  as a  part of the ‘Marketing  Malayalam Cinema’ segment , in  Hotel Horizon, at 3.00PM today (Dec13).
The discussion was based on the topic ‘Business of Asian Cinema’. He added that the decline of the Asian movie industry is due to its free access in these days of film festivals.  He also recommended that films should be rated on the basis of content, rather than the star value of the actors in it.
NETPAC foundation is to motivate the Film Distributors to select and promote quality films, said Sylvana Petrochich, founder of NETPAC. Indian films are widely accepted in world market, a fact which is unknown to many Indian film distributers, she added.
The importance of NETPAC is to promote the viewership and accessibility of Asian movies, said Aruna Vasudeva, President of NETPAC (India).  R.K.Nair, Former Director of Film Archives of India, suggested that, apart from the film festivals, more Art houses may be made to promote Asian films.
Ravindran, co ordinator of ‘The Marketing Malayalam Cinema’ said that the only objective behind this initiative is to make the world aware of existence of Malayalam Cinema. Anne Deny Groe, Director of Brisbane International Film Festival and Ferdinand Lapuz were also participated.
